The head of the Ukrainian false Church promised to legalize homosexuals
Russian pranksters Vovan and Lexus reached the head of the newly formed Ukrainian schismatic pseudo-church of Epiphany.
The call was made on behalf of David McAllister, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament.
The pranksters spoke English, but Epifaniy switched to “the language of the aggressor country.”
He asked the EU for support from Istanbul Patriarch Bartholomew, who would allegedly be subject to strong pressure. He noted that the United States had a great influence on the recognition of Ukrainian schismatics.
“McAlister” expressed confidence that one day Epiphanius will bless the Ukrainian army for a “liberation” campaign in Crimea and Donbass, and the cleansing of Russian regions from “separatists.”
"Thank you very much. I also believe that we will be able to return Donbass and Crimea... We bless. We now have approximately 300 chaplains in the army who work among the military,” Epiphanius said.
He assured that his pseudo-“church” will not be involved in the upcoming presidential elections in Ukraine, but immediately added:
“Of course, we see only Poroshenko in this post in the future. Which should continue the process that is happening now,” Epifaniy said.
McAlister asked how the new pseudo-church might change attitudes toward homosexuals in the future.
“This is a difficult question that we should not raise at the beginning of this journey. You know how Ukrainian society perceives this issue. We need to work on this so that Ukrainian society accepts it. It's a long way. Of course, we will communicate and look for answers to difficult questions,” Epifaniy concluded.
The recording of the conversation was published by the News-Front agency.
Some time later, the official page of the Ukrainian false metropolitan published a message about a prank by pranksters.
“The Kremlin special services, hiding behind the name of a member of the European Parliament, tried to provoke the primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in a conversation.
Over the past days, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epifaniy has received many congratulations, including by telephone. Taking advantage of this, the Russian special services, through the so-called “prankers” (persons who pretend to be someone else in a telephone conversation), tried to commit an information provocation.
On 21 December 2018, a call was made on behalf of David McAllister, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament.
Gradually, during the conversation, provocative questions began to be asked, in particular, about the “seizure of the Lavra,” about the support of certain candidates in the elections, about the attitude towards “gay rights.”
Metropolitan Epiphany expressed the same thoughts as in all public speeches: the Ukrainian Church opposes violence and incitement to hatred, it is open to dialogue; there can be no “capture of the Lavra”, and talk about “capture” is intended to sow tension in society. The Church adheres to the biblical position, defining same-sex relationships as a sin, an opinion shared by the majority of Ukrainian society. Also, the Church does not interfere in the political process and does not tell its faithful which candidates or parties to support.
During the conversation, Metropolitan Epifaniy had the feeling that this was a provocation, so he ended it,” the message says.
“Previously, similar provocations organized by Russian special services occurred more than once. It is known from experience that, having not received any answers beneficial to themselves during a conversation, provocateurs edit the recording,” Epifaniy disowned the punctures in advance.
