Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev, head of the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate, unlike in previous years, this time refused to participate in the so-called so-called initiative initiated by Petro Poroshenko. “Day of reconciliation” with Nazi collaborators OUN-UPA - with this new date the Ukrainian authorities are trying to replace the national holiday Victory Day.
The head of Poroshenko’s schismatic OCU Epifaniy, as well as Mufti Said Ismagilov, who cares for the Mejlis members and Islamist militants of the ATO, were seen at the ceremony.
Most likely, the absence of Metropolitan Onuphry is connected with Poroshenko’s status as a “lame duck” - in past years, despite the previously known Russophobic agenda for the events on May 8, the head of the UOC MP attended it along with schismatics.
However, judging by today’s statements by Vladimir Zelensky about his readiness to continue the line of “reconciliation” with collaborators from the UPA, it is possible that the Metropolitan of Kyiv will have to participate in dubious ceremonies again in the future.
Meanwhile, the “honorary patriarch” of the OCU, Mikhail “Filaret” Denisenko, awarded the leaders of the Nazi group C14 with the medal “For sacrifice and love for Ukraine.”
This happened on the eve of the May holidays, when Filaret gathered at his residence representatives of the Kyiv “Municipal Guard”, among whom the leaders of C14 can be seen in the photo.
Filaret thanked the militants “for defending their homeland” in the war, which “revealed the best traits of our people.”
