The head of the UOC accused Bartholomew of “anti-church actions”
Patriarch Bartholomew does not have the right to send his exarchs to Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was stated on Friday by the head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), Metropolitan Onufriy.
“The Patriarchate of Constantinople sent two of its exarchs to Ukraine. This is anti-canonical, that is, a non-canonical action of the Church of Constantinople. She does not have the right to send her legates, her exarchs to our independent church,” Onuphry said in an interview with the Inter channel.
He believes that no one has the right “neither moral nor canonical to invite exarchs.” “They want to command and teach us how to live?” — the Metropolitan wondered. “Interference is an anti-church action, anti-canonical, it is a sin that leads to the disunity of people. The Church cannot live according to the standards of worldly life,” noted Metropolitan Onifry.
Let us recall that the Patriarchate of Constantinople, “in preparation for the granting of autocephaly to the Orthodox Church in Ukraine,” appointed its exarchs in Kyiv on September 7.
