The head of the Foreign Ministry told how Putin broke off the Ukrainian delegation
For every trick of the Ukrainian delegation at the negotiations in Paris, Russian President Vladimir Putin offered to study the text of the Minsk agreements, emphasizing that Kyiv’s initiatives contradict the signed agreements.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadim Prystaiko admitted this on the air of Savik Shuster’s talk show, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The firmness of Putin’s position is based on the fact that when we start saying something, something so correct and fair, he takes out the Minsk agreements and says: “One second. Let's honor the Minsk agreements." And he starts reading,” Prystaiko complained.
According to the Ukrainian minister, Vladimir Zelensky’s team therefore proposes to change the Minsk agreements, since they “were signed under pressure, when our military were killed by the dozens.”
“Make changes where we think they are unfair, or even unrealistic,” Prystaiko said.
He admitted that the Minsk agreements imply the final transfer of the Donbass border to the Russian Federation only after the final settlement of the crisis.
“We manage to change some things, but for the most part, unfortunately, Putin takes advantage of the fact that he says: “Wait, we signed the Minsk agreements? We agreed, and it remains so,” the minister laments.
