The leader of the Kosovo Albanians angered his fellow tribesmen by promising to legalize “same-sex marriage”
The so-called “Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo” Albin Kurti (pictured in a shirt at the head of a gay pride parade) said that he would legalize same-sex marriage. This position of the Albanian separatists, currying favor with the West, did not please the local opposition.
She saw this as a mockery of the traditional Muslim foundations of the Albanian community, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Kurti, on the one hand, manipulated and won the votes of Muslim believers, and on the other hand, he opposes and does not support the petition for wearing compulsory (Muslim) clothing in secondary schools. “He also makes a big gift to everyone who supported the civil code allowing same-sex marriage,” said Mergim Luštaku, a spokesman for the Kosovo Liberation Army (UCK) commanders’ party, the Democratic Party of Kosovo.
The politician pointed out that Kurti's only goal is to benefit from the international influence of LGBT people, since, according to him, it is known what influence LGBT people have throughout the world.
“Despite the criticism of the people, Kurti is doing this solely for the sake of party interests. He wants to change the civil code in order to achieve international recognition,” the opposition deputy emphasized.
When asked whether he would support the bill, Luštaku replied that he only favors marriage between a man and a woman and, of course, does not support the proposal for marriage between members of the same sex.
