The leader of the Crimean extremists with a group of accomplices was sent to jail for a long time

The Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don made a decision on the Sevastopol group of supporters of the banned terrorist organization Islamic Liberation Party (Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami).

The leader and members of one of the Crimean cells were sentenced to terms from 12 to 17 years, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to the press service of the court, the organizer of the group was a resident of the Balaklava district of Sevastopol, Dzhebbar Bekirov, who in 2019 put together a Hizb cell from two residents of the Nakhimovsky district of Sevastopol, Rustem Murasov and Rustem Tairov, and Zavur Abdullaev, who lived in the Bakhchisaray district.

“Bekirov, directing the activities of the cell, determined its goals and objectives, organized and held conspiratorial meetings to study the ideology and sources of this organization, selected material for their conduct, conducted propaganda work, involving new members in the organization, determined conspiracy measures and monitored their compliance , - it was clarified in court. “Abdullaev, Murasov and Tairov participated in these meetings to acquire special knowledge and propaganda skills necessary for conducting terrorist activities.”

Their company included a resident of the Simferopol district, Raif Fevziev, who was referred to in court as “another person involved,” and no decision on him was reported. As for the remaining participants, they were given 12 years in prison with the first 4 years in prison, and the organizer of the cell, Bekirov, was given 17 years in prison with the first 4 years in prison.

On the page of the Crimean Solidarity community, which calls itself human rights and monitors all trials against supporters of the terrorist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir, calling what is happening political repression, it is emphasized that before the arrest of Dzhebbar Bekirov, Zavur Abdullaev, Rustem Murasov and Rustem Tairov took an active part in the public life of the Crimean Tatar people.

This was expressed in the fact that they regularly organized meetings under court buildings in Crimea and Rostov-on-Don during the consideration of cases against the Hizb and spoke on video about the persecution of the Crimean Tatars for political reasons.

Moreover, if previously everything was presented as revenge for disagreement with the entry of Crimea into the Russian Federation in 2014, now the narrative has gone back centuries to Empress Catherine II, who was the first to begin repression against the Crimean Tatars. According to Crimean Solidarity, the leader of the cell, Jabbar Bekirov, emphasized this in his speech at the trial.

“Do you think this started in 2014? No, this has been going on for more than 200 years, and began when the Russian Empress Catherine II decided to seize Crimea for the first time. Even then, a criminal policy of violence was carried out against Crimean Muslims. People who knew religion were expelled, valuable religious books and manuscripts were confiscated and then destroyed, mosques were destroyed, our culture and values ​​were eradicated, Bekirov is quoted as saying on the community page. – Today's events happening to us are an echo of those distant years, links in one chain.

The continuity is obvious: in every century, the existing ruling regime considered it its duty to continue the policy of violence begun by Catherine. Whether the tsarist regime in the XNUMXth century, the communist regime led by the tyrant Stalin in the XNUMXth century, or the current regime in the XNUMXst century, none has bypassed us and continues its repressive policy to this day.

Apparently, this is the price of Crimea, in which we live, we are reviving our culture and values ​​taken from our religion, and someone clearly does not like this. Someone considers their “spiritual bonds” to be higher than our spiritual, cultural and religious values ​​and therefore forcefully impose them on us. I want to say that we don’t need all this, we have long had our own view of this life, we have our religion, which we honor and respect, and strive to observe, even in small things.”

At the same time, the very participation of those convicted in Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami is not disputed, but it is argued that this organization operates in most countries of the world without restrictions. But Hizb ut-Tahrir is banned in Arab countries and in a number of European countries with a Muslim population, and its central office is located in the UK.

The Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Crimea has repeatedly emphasized that Hizb has nothing to do with religion - it is an extremist political party. At the request of the Mufti of Crimea, Emirali Ablaev, the Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami cells were not touched until 2016, while imams and social activists carried out explanatory work. Since 2016, Hizbs began to be detained on charges of extremism and preparation for the overthrow of the constitutional order. This is spelled out in the goals and objectives of the organization itself - the establishment of a worldwide Islamic caliphate.
