The leader of the Mejlis accused the Navalnists of looting
Russian liberals refused to designate Crimea as the territory of Ukraine, despite the demands of the Mejlis members.
The head of the so-called Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, banned in the Russian Federation, Refat Chubarov, stated this in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Chubarov, he asked the leadership of the team of convicted liberal blogger Alexei Navalny and oppositionist Leonid Volkov to change the territorial affiliation of Crimea on their website, but was refused.
“Alexei Navalny’s team launched the website “Freedom for Navalny”, on which they posted a cartographic image of the Russian Federation, the borders of which also included the territory of Crimea, temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation.
On my initiative, a conversation took place with Leonid Volkov, during which I explained the unacceptability of such an action and proposed to bring the borders of the Russian Federation into line with the internationally recognized borders of Ukraine, removing the Crimean peninsula from the borders of the Russian Federation in the image.
Mr. Volkov explained to me the impossibility of the correction I proposed. I wouldn’t like to broadcast Leonid Volkov’s arguments... I don’t want to read any lectures to anyone, I’ll limit myself to the obvious - if you want justice at home, stop looting in someone else’s house,” Chubarov was indignant.
