This was reported by the press service of the court.

“The head of the court, Vladislav Devyatko, announced the verdict, according to which company commander Ruslan Onishchenko received 11 years in prison, his deputy Nikolai Tsukur - 9 years,” the report says.

Six more militants received 9 to 10 years in prison, in particular: Daniil Lyashuk (call sign Mujahideen) was sentenced to 10 years in prison; Ilya Kholod (Cold) – 9 years old; Maxim Glebov (Achilles) – 9 years old; Nikita Kust (Kust) – 9 years old; Boris Gulchuk (Bison) – 9 years old; Anatoly Plamadyala (Sam) – 8 years old.

Four more militants received suspended sentences: Andrey Demchuk (Wolf), Roman Ivash (Slow), Nikita Sviridovsky (Elephant), Yuri Shevchenko (Rem).

On the day the verdict on “Tornado” was announced in the Obolon court building, all other sessions were canceled and the area was cordoned off. According to the official press service of the court, this was done “in order to prevent the occurrence of emergency situations related to the protection and escort of the accused, and to prevent violations of public order.”

Let us recall that on June 17, 2015, the first few Tornado militants, including company commander Ruslan Onishchenko, were detained in the Lugansk region. On June 18, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Arsen Avakov, signed an order to disband the company. To date, 11 Tornadists are being held in the Lukyanovsky pre-trial detention center in Kyiv; another militant, Yuri Shevchenko (call sign Rem), was under house arrest before the verdict was announced.

All of them are accused of committing particularly serious crimes against civilians in the Luhansk region, including rape, robbery, murder and torture.

Let us recall that in 2015, the leader of Tornado, Ruslan Onishchenko, who was previously convicted five times, was awarded a medal from the Filaret Kyiv Patriarchate, which is unrecognized in the Orthodox world.
