The US commander in Warsaw attacked Russia
Warsaw was visited by the Commander-in-Chief of the US Armed Forces in Europe, General Ben Hodges, who met with the Polish leadership and generals. Hodges, admiring the Polish-American “strategic partnership,” laid flowers near the Monument to the Unknown Soldier.

Hodges arrived in Warsaw for negotiations related to the preparation of the NATO summit scheduled for July 2016 in Warsaw. In his opinion, the Warsaw summit has a historic scale - 28 member countries of the alliance will discuss NATO's response to new geopolitical challenges.
The American general directly states that Russia is a threat to the security of NATO countries, comparing it with ISIS. The American military also emphasized that Russia is not actually conducting operations against the Islamic State, but rather in support of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Russian activity in the Middle East is connected, first of all, with an attempt to divert the attention of the world community from the situation in Ukraine: “Putin wanted people to forget about the thousands of Russian soldiers who continue to occupy the territory of Ukraine. Thus, he wanted the EU sanctions to be lifted,” the American told Polish media.
Hodges also confirmed plans to station American forces in five military bases outside of Poland next year, in accordance with the Polish-American agreement signed in early October.
