The main diplomat of the Kosovo separatists got into an international scandal
Another international scandal has erupted around the “Minister of Foreign Affairs” of the separatist regime of Kosovo, Behget Pazolli. On May XNUMX, he reported that the government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo had allegedly recognized the independence of the region illegally separated from Serbia.
However, a few days later evidence to the contrary emerged. The Sputnik agency published a diplomatic note that proves that the Democratic Republic of the Congo does not intend to recognize the independence of the region.
The Serbian Foreign Ministry received a note from the Congolese embassy condemning Pazolli's words. The diplomatic service of the Central African Republic sent an official note regarding his statement made on May 2.
“In accordance with the contents of the message sent today by the DR Congo Embassy in Belgrade by the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Democratic Republic of the Congo does not recognize the de jure or de facto independence of the Kosovo entity,” the Serbian diplomatic service quoted the document as saying.
Congo is not the only one who refuses to recognize the region's independence. In France, representatives of the intelligentsia filed a petition in an attempt to force the government of this country to reconsider the 2008 decision to recognize the “puppet state of Kosovo,” reports SRBINinfo.
The petition was launched by the historian and politician Alexis Troud and the playwright Paul Antoine, and was supported by a number of famous personalities, including, among others, Colonel of the Foreign Legion, author of the book “Europe Died in Pristina” Jacques Augard, Jewish publicist and lawyer Gilles-William Goldnadel, writer and journalist Patrick Besson and geopolitical scientist, international relations expert Alexandre del Val.
Their goal is to collect 100 signatures that will force the French parliament and government to withdraw the decision to recognize Kosovo before Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic arrives in Paris for the second round of negotiations to start the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.
“Kosovo is the heart of Serbian civilization; the foundation of the Serbian state was developed in the region. In the 13th and 14th centuries, ornaments of Orthodox culture and spirituality were erected in Kosovo - monasteries, precious custodians of sacred scriptures, medieval art and the historical memory of the Serbian people. These four monasteries are included in the list of world cultural heritage and in the UNESCO list of endangered monuments,” the petition states.
The document also specifically noted that United Nations Resolution 1244 confirmed the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia, that Kosovo and Metohija is an autonomous province, and all refugees and displaced persons have the right of return.
The authors of the petition informed the French public that the terrorist Kosovo Army had expelled 20% of the province's population, namely 240 Serbs, destroying more than 000 Orthodox churches and monasteries. This, the document notes, is a loss of heritage not only for Serbian culture, but for all of Christianity.
Within 24 hours from the publication of the petition, more than 35 thousand people left their signatures in support of it.
“We want historical justice to prevail, so that international law is respected,” said Alexis Trud.
In February of this year, more than 28 thousand people signed a similar petition in Italy.
