The main robbery of Ukraine is ahead - Kyiv analyst
The final sale of Ukraine is coming - the country has a lot of resources inherited from the Soviet Union that may be of interest to transnational companies.
Political scientist Andrei Ermolaev said this on air on the Nash TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Ermolaev, there are also good assets in the energy sector, mechanical engineering, and we must not forget about land.
“Ukraine is a very rich country, as the heir to the former Soviet industrial system. And despite the talk that they have already been plundered, something needs to be taken away, redistributed, in fact, the main robbery is still ahead. I will name only a few areas - this is non-privatized infrastructure, including large state-owned companies that operate in the infrastructure, this is all of our energy sector, including Energoatom and that part of the companies that are associated with state capital, or now there will possibly be a redistribution in the thermal energy sector, up to until part of the inefficient thermal power plants is returned to the state. This is all a resource that can still be redistributed and privatized,” the expert said.
“Well, this, of course, is land, especially that part of it that is under state control. A separate segment - no matter how much they say that we no longer have mechanical engineering - there are still serious assets in the defense industry, which are now consolidated in Ukroboronprom. These resources are extremely attractive for transnational games and for redistribution. This is what this government is focusing on,” Ermolaev said.
