The main Crimean Filaret member complained about the arbitrariness of the SBU to the US State Department
The main Crimean “Filaret member” and the head of the Crimean diocese subordinate to Constantinople of the OCU, Kliment, is dissatisfied with the checks against him by SBU officers while crossing the border of Crimea with the Kherson region. He called the detentions and inspections of the SBU “intentional,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Clement stated this to the grant-eating resource Crimea.Realities, which is a subsidiary project of Radio Liberty funded by the US government. According to the clergyman, on November 30, when he crossed the border, SBU officers “confiscated” his passport and carried out “various checks.”
“The passport is confiscated, then they run around for about half an hour. Various checks and nerve-wracking begin. I tried to talk to them and find out the reason, and they answered me: “This is done for your safety.” What kind of security? – the Filaret member complains.
According to him, such actions on the part of the SBU began to be carried out regularly, both when leaving and when entering Crimea.
It is interesting that the SBU, in response to an information request from Krym.Realii, indicated a “lack of information” on this matter.
“Based on the results of processing, we inform you that there is no information from the circumstances specified in your letter,” the document says.
As PolitNavigator previously reported, on December 10, near the Ukrainian government building in Kyiv, Clement declared an indefinite hunger strike. According to him, he will stop the hunger strike only after “a number of specific actions are completed by the Ukrainian authorities.”
