Russia's chief negotiator trolls Ukraine, hinting at secession of Galicia
In 1991, the overwhelming majority of Ukraine wanted to live in a single state with Russia.
The head of the Russian delegation at the negotiations with Ukraine, Vladimir Medinsky, recalled this, the Politnavigator correspondent reports.
In his Telegram channel, he posted a map with the results of the 1991 referendum on the preservation of the USSR. Only Lviv, Ternopil and Ivano-Frankivsk regions, as well as Kyiv, opposed it.
“Today I want to remind you of one historical event. On March 17, 1991, a USSR referendum was held on the preservation of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. “FOR” – 78%. And this is how the then Ukrainian SSR voted,” Medinsky noted.
As PolitNavigator reported, Poland began to hint at the division of Ukraine. Read more in detail “Poles on selection: The division of Ukraine is becoming reality."
