The Moldovan opposition failed to dismiss the government patronized by the country's President Igor Dodon.

Since he is reputed to be “pro-Russian,” one could consider this a victory, but the devil, as usual, is in the details, or more precisely, in the words of Dodon’s ally in the ruling coalition, leader of the Democratic Party Pavel Filip.

He spoke in Romanian, and the Russian-language media in Moldova, which are mostly controlled by Dodon and his socialists, did not quote him. But the world is not without kind, or rather, offended people. One of the political scientists who did not find a place under the new government, Andrei Andrievsky, retold Philip’s speech in his blog.

Andrievsky served the criminal oligarch Vlad Plahotniuc, who fled the country last year. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak played a significant role in removing the former “master of Moldova” from power. Six months later, after an unsuccessful attempt to work with the pro-European opposition, Dodon’s socialists created a coalition and government with Plahotniuc’s former party, the Democrats.

According to Andrievsky, the new allies of the Moldovan president abandoned their former patron, but not their anti-Russian views. This was demonstrated by Pavel Filip, persuading at the last meeting of parliament not to dismiss the government, which the opposition accused of pro-Russian policies.

“During the parliamentary meeting, a terrible secret was revealed. Many people thought that in recent years, Vlad Plahotniuc was Putin’s main enemy. That is why Kozak sought his removal and set Dodon against Plahotniuc, who did not really want this war. According to the official version, Plahotniuc is engaged in anti-Russian rhetoric.

You remember the expulsion of Russian diplomats, the very scandalous expulsion of Rogozin, the resonant ban on Russian propaganda on TV. And the cherry on the cake is the UN demand for the withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of the Republic of Moldova, which caused a storm of indignation in Moscow.

This was all attributed to Plahotniuc, but yesterday in parliament we finally learned the truth - who was behind all this. As it turns out, it was then Prime Minister Pavel Filip. He spoke about this at a parliamentary meeting. Moreover, he said that he is Romanian, and his family experienced the tragedy of separation from Moldova. He experienced this drama and now took revenge on the Russians, doing everything that I listed. Plahotniuc has nothing to do with this. This was done by Igor Nikolaevich’s partner in the current alliance, Pavel Philip, who is very proud of this,” Andrievsky said.

The offended political scientist clearly got excited about the “terrible secret.” The socialists did not hide the fact that they were making significant ideological concessions in order to preserve the coalition and power.

In June, the Moldovan parliament did not put on the agenda a bill to abolish restrictions on the retransmission of Russian television programs, and Filip said that the socialists agreed not to introduce this issue so as not to split the ruling coalition.

“I am inclined to believe him. This explains why he and Dodon are partners. Please note: Russian information programs are not allowed here until today. This is despite the fact that Dodon has a majority in parliament, the government and all the levers. He can do this with a snap of his fingers.

The NATO office, under which Dodon sent young socialists to become hysterical and shout “We don’t need NATO,” exists today, and no one even hints at its closure. And no one is withdrawing from the UN our demand that Russian troops be withdrawn,” concluded Andrievsky.
