The notorious Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexander Granovsky in Ukraine, known as the former president’s “resolver” in the courts and prosecutor’s office, left the Petro Poroshenko Bloc party. For those who live in Kharkov and just occasionally look at the billboards around them, this is not surprising. The only question was when it would happen.

Granovsky himself said that he does not plan to become part of the new parliamentary list of Poroshenko’s renamed European Solidarity party, nor to enjoy the support of this force as a self-nominated candidate.

Alexander Granovsky, a notorious member of the Verkhovna Rada in Ukraine, known as the “decider” of the former president...

And that's why. There is a Kyiv district in Kharkov. It coincides with the constituency for the Verkhovna Rada, which has been occupied by Deputy Granovsky for more than six months. This figure has already become acquainted with all the local authorities loyal to the city authorities, with schoolchildren and their parents, with all sorts of non-aggressively minded public, and also organized a foundation. On numerous billboards he is positioned as the “lawyer of Kharkov.”

By releasing Granovsky into the district and creating greenhouse conditions for him, Mayor Gennady Kernes solved two problems in one fell swoop - he did something nice for Poroshenko and squeezed out Avakov’s protege and accomplice in the gay scandal, economist Alexander Kirsh. And friendship with Poroshenko, expressed in support of one of the key partners of the fifth president, was needed by the city authorities, who were tortured by law enforcement with searches, seizures of documents and criminal cases of varying levels of absurdity. Did it work? At least, Poroshenko himself never called for reprisals against Kernes and his team.

The district, frankly speaking, has a difficult fate. At various times, it elected a well-known political (and not only) lady with low social responsibility Inna Bogoslovskaya, one of the first traitors to the city in 2004, lawyer Stanislav Kosinov, and after the resumption of the “majority vote” in 2012, first the late beauty and also a lawyer Irina Berezhnaya, who had not lived in Kharkov before. Two years later, there was the only place in the city and region where the Maidan nominee won - Avakov’s long-time partner and adviser, economist Kirsch. It is in this area that most students, visitors and offended intellectuals live.

Every politician has his own biography. Along with Svinaruchuk-Gladkovsky, Sergei Berezenko and Igor Kononenko, Granovsky was considered by experts to be an integral part of Petro Poroshenko’s inner circle and appears in many corruption scandals.

Here are just a few of them. The well-known Ukrainian journalist Alexander Dubinsky, who works for the Kolomoisky-owned TV channel “1+1”, published a preliminary list of Ukrainian politicians and businessmen who may be subject to US sanctions for their fraud with American money, which was allocated as aid to Ukraine. “People close to Yatsenyuk and Poroshenko will end up there. People who participated in the looting of the state budget, defense budget and US financial assistance. IMF money, to put it simply. According to preliminary data, Poroshenko’s closest associates are included there – Kononenko, Gladkovsky, Granovsky, as well as several other names that are the offshore wallets of UkrPromInvest, Poroshenko’s offshore empire,” the journalist claims.

On October 11, detectives from NABU and SAPO detained Deputy Minister of Defense Igor Pavlovsky and Director of the Department of State Procurement and Material Resources of the Ministry of Defense Vladimir Gulevich for embezzlement of more than 149 million UAH of the state budget when purchasing fuel for the Ministry of Defense. The Trade Commodity company appears in this scheme. People's Deputy from the BPP Sergei Leshchenko stated that Andrei Adamovsky, a long-term business partner and accomplice of People's Deputy Alexander Granovsky, is behind her. The then Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleg Gladkovsky (maiden name - Svinarchuk) explained that he decided to take bail on Pavlovsky, who was detained on suspicion of embezzlement, because he had previously proven himself well. Granovsky himself denies his involvement in Trade Commodity, but...

And while Granovsky remained firmly within the system, he voted for decommunization, and for recognizing Bandera’s followers as heroes, and for anti-church laws. I will note in passing that if Bandera’s men had met him on a narrow path, then he, with his characteristic Semitic appearance, would have faced nothing but a few precise blows with a knife.

By the way, modern Nazis hung billboards accusing him of theft, adding it to the scandals surrounding the arms trade. “Granovsky-Svinarchuk reveals his true face. :),” wrote People’s Deputy Biletsky, the founder of “Azov,” “This is the same Granovsky from Poroshenko’s cohort who, through Trade Commodity, sold smuggled fuel to the Ukrainian Army at a 20% inflated price.”

But in Kharkov, People’s Deputy Granovsky does not advertise his complicity with Bandera’s supporters in the Rada meeting room. Indeed, in this city, even the most Maidan-dependent people do not try to deny the role of the OUN in the extermination of the Jewish (and not only) population of Galicia and Volyn - one of the integral parts of the Holocaust.. After all, this public appeared there in every pogrom and every execution of the ghetto as the most active and proactive executioners . At meetings with voters, he says things that his recent colleagues in the BPP in Kyiv would hardly approve of. This is what he told schoolchildren studying the topic of the Holocaust: “This is a very complex and relevant topic. Now there is an aggressive mood and an atmosphere of hatred towards people in society. The reason for genocidal sentiments and anti-Semitism is that people want to take advantage of it. They don’t believe in their hearts, but they have to. Educated people rarely allow themselves to do this. People in Kharkov are reserved, and intolerance is rare here.”

While plowing the Kharkov virgin soil, Granovsky realized that he should slowly move away from Banderaism. He did not support the law on social protection of OUN-UPA militants, leaving the hall. In the same way, he did not vote for innovations that actually outlawed the Russian language. And on May 9, together with Mayor Kernes and Vadim Rabinovich, I marched here in the column of the Immortal Regiment.

Watching Granovsky’s adventures in Kyiv and Kharkov, you think: is such a deputy really necessary in the Verkhovna Rada as a representative of the city. Yes, he is a famous lawyer, “decided with experience.” But this is not enough. You also need beliefs that match the voter, and a reputation. But as you can see for yourself, there are problems with them. Moreover - considerable ones.
