Kyiv’s main fear: not losing Kharkov after Donbass
Kyiv, March 16 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) - Ukrainian elites are ready to accept the loss of Donbass and give it the broadest rights if they have guarantees that the militias will not advance into the territory of other regions.
Ukrainian political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky stated this on the air of the “Right to Know” talk show.

“There is a certain part of the political elite who, although they do not speak directly, have in principle accepted the fact that Donbass will leave. But in order to transfer this to the public plane, they must receive guarantees that Kharkov will not go further after Donbass,” Pogrebinsky said.
In his opinion, Kharkov today is indeed a territory that is predominantly not loyal to the new Kyiv government.
“There is a significant part of the population that does not sympathize with the Kyiv authorities. There are different estimates, but I assume that at least a third of the population of the South-East: Kharkov and everything up to Odessa are anti-Kiev. This is a lot of people,” Pogrebinsky said.
