The Ukrainian military and political leadership is deceiving Russia by declaring that the counteroffensive will be in the south, while in fact planning it in the east.
Kiev political scientist Dmitry Korneychuk stated this in an interview with journalist Alexander Shelest, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Korneychuk, after the Armed Forces of Ukraine push against the Russian defense, there may be a call from the West to freeze the conflict.
“Now this counter-offensive is supposed to happen, but it looks like it will not be in the south, but in the Donbass. Of course, they will tell us that this was planned, they will convince us that “we have been telling you all the time about the south in order to distract and deceive Putin, but in fact, now in the Donbass. I think that some kind of counter-offensive is already taking place in the Bakhmut area,” the expert said.
“We will probably either return Bakhmut or move even further. Then again a certain deadlock situation will arise, and at that moment the whole world will unanimously say: “That’s it, the situation is deadlock, neither side is moving either here or there, so let’s solve something.
In general, you see, the United States is in a state of potential default, money for Ukraine is scheduled until September of this year, it is not a fact that there will be money in the new budget, so let’s somehow end this whole story,” Korneychuk said.
