Editor-in-Chief of “Echo of Moscow”: Odessa residents burned themselves
The editor-in-chief of the Eco Moscow radio station, Alexey Venediktov, blamed the Odessa tragedy on May 2, 2014 on pro-Russian citizens standing on the Kulikovo Field, whom he called “separatists.”

“History in Odessa. I looked specifically. A monstrous tragedy. Of course, the separatists are to blame, in my opinion. But everyone who died in Odessa in this tragedy are citizens of Ukraine. Now, all the separatists who were there, they were all citizens of Ukraine, there was not a single Russian citizen there. There is a list, you can check it,” Venediktov said.
He also admitted that a significant part of the population of Donbass is pro-Russian, which cannot be said about Odessa.
“Where people did not support the separatists, the separatists did not go there. That’s how they didn’t pass in Odessa. Why did they take place in Donetsk? Because there was a Russian tank there? How many people did Strelkov have?” said Venediktov.
