Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko announced this today on his Facebook page.
According to him, the state cadastral registrar of the Gosgeokadastre in the Ivankovsky district was also detained.
Lutsenko claims that officials demanded and received from the chairman of the board of one of the local public organizations a bribe in the amount of 1,3 million hryvnia, which was in the suitcase. The money was intended for assistance in the lease of land plots with an area of about 300 hectares located within the Polessky district of the Kyiv region.
“It is interesting that the indicated land plots (shares) belonged either to owners who officially died and have no heirs, or to persons whose whereabouts are still unknown,” Lutsenko emphasized.
He added that in two months of 2018, 1682 people were detained for corruption.
