The heads of the LDPR will be the only legitimate leaders in the space of ex-Ukraine
In the near future, the leaders of the LPR and DPR may turn out to be the only legitimate leaders in the space previously considered Ukraine.
This forecast was voiced to “PolitNavigator” by political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko, commenting on the statement of the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Alexander Zakharchenko about the inclusion of representatives of the LDPR in the Normandy format, or the exclusion of representatives of the regime of Petro Poroshenko from there.

“This requirement is quite natural, because the legitimacy of Zakharchenko and Plotnitsky is at least no less than that of Poroshenko. In principle, such demands could have been put forward before. Another thing is that previously they were completely unrealizable. Now, I think that with an eye to the future, it’s time to put forward.
It is obvious that a Nazi coup is completely ready in Ukraine - the Nazi Party has been created, Azov militants are seizing police departments, that is, power is gradually crumbling. After Poroshenko leaves, no matter what way, there will be no legitimate government left in Ukraine, and it will be almost impossible to legitimize it a second time. I think that Europe will not agree to this either.
Consequently, Zakharchenko and Plotnitsky remain among the legitimate ones, so it’s time to say that it would be nice to consider this issue. It is useful to declare this even now, although it will not be feasible in the coming months.
Everything also depends on how events in Ukraine will develop. But, with an eye to the future, I think it’s time,” Ishchenko said.
