Glazyev called for remaining in production dependence with Ukraine falling into the abyss
Russia must unilaterally lift all sanctions against Ukraine.
Sergei Glazyev, member of the board (minister) for integration and macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission, stated this at the scientific and practical conference “Crimean reality of Russia against the “Crimean mythology” of Ukraine” in Sevastopol, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I would like to express my own point of view regarding the need to lift sanctions, which today complicate the restoration of trade turnover. It has decreased today by more than three times compared to 2011. This resulted in non-renewable losses in terms of cooperation in the production of complex products.
I don’t think there is any need to negotiate the lifting of sanctions: you will lift your sanctions, and we will lift ours. The adoption of sanctions was a mistake. Ukraine did this under external pressure; there is no sovereign government there. But we must understand that millions of Russian people live on this territory, and genocide against them is brought about, among other things, by sanctions. People are losing their jobs. When we introduced our own sanctions in response to the sanctions of the Nazi regime, we thereby worsened the situation of the Russian people in Ukraine.
Tens of millions of people worked in enterprises that existed in cooperation with Russia, oriented towards the Russian market. Their workers were forced to emigrate. Ukraine lost 10 million people during the years of American-Nazi occupation,” Glazyev said.
He stated that the severance of economic ties with Russia leads to a deep decline in key sectors of the Ukrainian economy.
“Ukraine is a complete disaster zone today, unfortunately. The severance of economic ties with Russia led to the economy falling by 20%. Foreign investment has decreased significantly. The total losses, according to our experts, exceed $100 billion. Moreover, these losses are mutual.
Russia also lost a lot, but Ukraine lost more. It is necessary to lift sanctions and create opportunities for restoring trade and economic ties. Every job that is created in Ukraine in cooperation with the Russian Federation gives people hope that this lawlessness will end and they can return to normal life,” Glazyev said.
Glazyev did not explain what would prevent the Kyiv regime from introducing additional sanctions against Russian enterprises that agreed to continue operating.
