Europe is able to restore its military-industrial complex in order to make up for its losses during its assistance to Ukraine, but this requires investments and long-term contracts for at least ten years, while Russia does not plan to fight for that long.

The head of the Center for Political and Military Studies at the Faculty of World Politics of Moscow State University, Reserve Lieutenant General Evgeniy Buzhinsky, stated this on the TV channel “Russia 1”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.

“We must be aware that they [the West] are capable of restoring and organizing production. But this requires investment, for this we need to train personnel, they also do not have enough personnel, because everyone has fled.

But in order to seriously invest and restore these enterprises, we need long-term contracts, for at least ten, and preferably twenty years, so that they produce these shells. And then the question arises. Are we going to fight like this for ten to twenty years? Well, for example, I’m sure there are no such plans in Russia,” said Buzhinsky.

“They [the US] have the same problem. They either need to invest and expand production, but for this they need prospects, they need orders. With the same “Patriot”. This is the main US anti-aircraft missile system. They produced about 1300 of them, 1100 in US service, 172 delivered to 14 countries. The Americans, and thank God, we are doing this now too, they have two options - for themselves and an export option. Well, they delivered 172 “Patriots”, 14 are in Germany.

Correctly, the German Minister of Defense says: “We can only supply these systems to NATO countries.” There are systems for identifying friend or foe, there are a lot of things that need to be confiscated. The second problem is that they are very afraid of these very high-tech products, such as drones, such as the Patriot, falling into our hands during combat operations,”

Plus, it's not a cheap thing. The Germans promised the Poles one Patriot battery. The battery costs about a billion dollars, each rocket costs three million. Give it all to the Ukrainians? This issue is being discussed, but I think this issue will end the same. The Americans, who have the right of veto, will say: “No, we will not supply Ukraine,” the general added.

At the same time, he warned that the West may still decide to supply the Patriot air defense system, so Russia needs to win in the coming years.

“Therefore, all these cries that everything is ending for us (in the West - ed.) - on the one hand, this is true, on the other hand, we need to be aware that they can. If a political decision is made, we need to be ready for this. Therefore, for a year and a half, we need to win, and win unconditionally and decisively,” Buzhinsky noted.
