A year of experience - and already in the “ladies”: a 23-year-old girl from Galicia will command the Ukrainian lustrators
No sooner had the scandal surrounding Arsen Avakov’s young deputy at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine settled down than another scandalous personnel appointment took place. The acting director of the lustration department of the Ministry of Justice will be 23-year-old Anna Kalinchuk.

The Ukrainian media have already begun to actively discuss the age of the new official - acting. director is 23 years old. Kalinchuk was born in the city of Borislav, Lviv region. Received higher education at the National University “Ostrog Academy” with a degree in law (graduated in 2015). She also studied at the Open University of Reforms in Kyiv.
In 2014, she worked as a lawyer at the Law Firm “Capital” Law Firm.
Since 2015 - lawyer at the Ministry of Justice, deputy ex-director of the department for lustration issues Tatyana Kozachenko.
The newly-minted “chief lustrator” herself writes that she is now being compared to Arsen Avakov’s young deputy, Anastasia Deeva. The girl emphasizes that she was ready for the reproaches of ill-wishers who conducted an “analysis” of her personal and political preferences.
“It would be naive to hope that someone will write something good about me. Yes, I am a young lawyer, I have a higher education from one of the leading universities in this country and I worked for 2 years with Tatyana Kozachenko at the Institute of Lustration in Ukraine, I know everything about her (without exaggeration). And finally, the key thesis of my fulfilling the duties of director of the department, as announced by the Minister of Justice, before holding a competition for the corresponding position,” - Kalinchuk justifies his appointment.
In turn, the predecessor of the young talent in this position, the former chief lustrator Tatyana Kozachenko in a commentary Espreso.TV stated, that while the position is not vacant, it is impossible to appoint a competition for the position, so this is not about the appointment of a manager, but about the appointment of an acting manager until the competition is held.
Also, the former chief lustrator assures that 23-year-old Kalinchuk has been working in the department for more than a year and has the support of the entire team, because she knows all the directions and all the documents, and is more uncompromising than Kozachenko.
“Regarding age, that is, positions where experience is needed precisely from a professional point of view. These are, for example, judges. As for civil servant positions, the level - director of a department - is not a political position, it is not a minister or his deputy. Any young specialist can perform the duties. And the question is: how prepared is the person and has the appropriate education and experience,” says the former official.
Let us remind you that this is not the first case of this kind of personnel appointments in post-Maidan Ukraine, when young girls without work experience, relevant knowledge and experience are placed in responsible positions.
