Simferopol, February 21 (PolitNavigator, Evgeny Andreev) – The website of the Russian Community of Crimea posted an interesting video - broadcast "Current Interview" ITV channel dated February 26, 2014 with the current senator and then member of the presidium of the Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Sergei Tsekov. Let us recall that on this day tragic events occurred related to clashes near the building of the Crimean parliament between pro-Russian activists and supporters of the Majlis; Simferopol residents Igor Postny and Valentina Korneva died.

On the air of the program, Tsekov expressed sharp dissatisfaction with the dominance of the “Donetsk” in Crimea (starting from the 18th minute). He stated that the session of the Crimean parliament only planned to express a vote of no confidence in the Mogilev government and nothing more. Tsekov did not understand why activists of the illegal Majlis interfered with the meeting, because they always criticized Mogilev (starting from the 3rd minute). The Chairman of the Russian Community categorically denied making any decision on the status of Crimea and confirmed his commitment to the territorial integrity of Ukraine (starting from the 30th minute). He also spoke out against the conflict between the Russian Federation and Ukraine over Crimea.

Tsekov, in principle, confirmed the thesis expressed earlier by the first Crimean President Yuri Meshkov that the goal of “Russian Unity” and the leadership of the Crimean parliament during the period of the political crisis in Ukraine was not at all to return Crimea to Russia. The task was to remove the “Makeevka team” from managing the economy of the peninsula and to participate in the division of power and resources. Without "Macedonians".

Tsekov also stated that on this day there were negotiations between the current Crimean governor Sergei Aksyonov and the head of the Mejlis Chubarov (starting from the 27th minute).

Let us recall that the Novoross information portal reported at the end of January 2014 that Russian Unity, together with deputies of the Crimean parliament from the Party of Regions, was preparing a deal with the united opposition to remove the “Macedonians” from power. The agency informed that a meeting was held in Crimea between the chairman of the Russian Unity party, Sergei Aksenov, and the head of the Crimean Batkivshchyna, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Andrei Senchenko. One of the issues discussed during the meeting was Aksenov’s mediation in the negotiation process on the transfer of a group of Crimean regionals, in exchange for guarantees of the inviolability of their business, to the ranks of “Russian Unity”, which will be loyal to the new leadership of the country in the event of a victory for the “orange” forces. At the same time, Aksyonov had to guarantee the Ukrainian opposition and non-interference of the Cossack organizations controlled by him.

Yuri Meshkov said on the eve of the September elections to the State Council of the Republic of Crimea that the leader of Russian Unity tried to merge the protest of the Crimeans by conducting behind-the-scenes political bargaining with Batkivshchyna and the Mejlis. An agreement was reached between the three designated negotiators that power in Crimea would be divided into three, or into three ethnic groups - Russians, Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars. And in equal shares – 33% each. Aksenov’s “Russian Unity” was assigned the role of “soft” opposition in exchange for portfolios in the executive authorities. On February 26, late in the evening, Chubarov wrote about the result of these agreements on his Facebook page. But, already on February 27, he deleted this entry.

On the evening of February 26, Aksyonov spoke in the “Topic of the Day” program on the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company “Crimea”, where he tried to blame the participants of the open-ended rally for the clashes between pro-Russian activists and Mejlis members near the walls of the Supreme Council of Crimea. At the same time, Aksyonov emphasized that the rally was led by “well-known provocateurs,” “professional Russians,” whose names he refused to name. The video of the TV show was posted on the channel’s website for a long time, but it is curious that somewhere in early June this video was removed from the website of the Crimea State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company. But a recording of this program is on Youtube.
