“A man who took children’s backpacks from a rack in a supermarket and put alcohol, sweets and other goods there was stopped by a security guard at the exit from the shopping area. However, the impudent man was not at a loss and announced that he was the owner of a chain of supermarkets,” the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Zhytomyr region reported.
According to the man, he personally approved the order, according to which he can enter the chain’s supermarkets anywhere in the country and take the necessary goods. But the security guards who are not familiar with this order and are preventing him from taking the products out of the store will be fired by today’s order.
Stunned by such impudence, employees of the retail establishment called the police. Law enforcement officers identified the pseudo-owner: he turned out to be a 57-year-old resident of the regional center. Stolen property worth more than 3000 hryvnia was seized from him.
The man faces penalties ranging from a fine to imprisonment for up to 3 years. The investigation into his possible involvement in other similar offenses is also ongoing.
