Poroshenko's voice began to tremble when talking about his fighting son
Kyiv, September 21 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – Petro Poroshenko emotionally spoke in an interview with TV channels about his son, who fought in Donbass against Russian rebels. According to the Ukrainian president, worries about the fate of his son was one of the reasons to agree to a truce in Minsk. When Poroshenko spoke about this, his voice noticeably trembled.

“You perceive the war differently when your son is there, and voluntarily... you then understand the price of peace, the cost of responsible decisions... to save the lives of Ukrainian heroes and not give up a single piece of Ukrainian land,” he said.
According to Poroshenko, his son was the commander of a mortar crew, “17 soldiers were wounded in his company.”
Now, as a result of the agreements in Minsk, “we are de-escalating, no matter what anyone says,” Poroshenko said.
“Yes, unfortunately, people are still dying here, but this is ten times less. We are doing a great job, which is carried out under my control,” the president assured.
“It is almost impossible to win using military methods in Donetsk and Lugansk... Residents of Donetsk and Lugansk are tired and hate everyone who has weapons and welcomes those who will bring peace. And Ukraine will bring it,” Poroshenko promised.
