Blue liar: Zelensky’s words about the construction of a corvette in Turkey are not confirmed by anything
Information about the construction of a corvette for the Ukrainian Navy at a Turkish shipyard is increasingly surrounded by scandals. Despite the fact that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has already announced the beginning of the construction of the ship, the consul of this country in Istanbul, Alexander Gaman, announced the day before only the beginning of preparatory work for this.
According to Ukrainian military expert Taras Chmut, we are not really talking about construction yet. He stated this on the air of the Skrypin Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The president said that the corvette was laid down, but few people believe him, because in all countries such an event, especially in Ukraine, is a huge holiday, where every official tries to show up in order to stand somewhere near the ribbon and fasten the board. Therefore, when the president said that something had been planted in our country, no one believed it, because there were no photos, no videos, but where was it? They began to clarify and the Consul General said that [the corvette was not laid down]... It is not known how much it costs, when it should be, how many there should be, what its characteristics are. We don’t know,” Chmut said.
Earlier he criticized promises Ukrainian authorities about the construction of warships jointly with Turkey, emphasizing that even if they enter the Ukrainian Navy, the combat capability of his country will not increase.
