Goncharenko spilled the beans: American Patriots will not protect Ukrainian cities
The American Patriot missile defense systems, which the United States and Germany promised to supply to Ukraine, are not needed to protect civilians.
Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Aleksey Goncharenko, notorious for his Russophobic antics, stated this on the air of the video blog “Now,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Goncharenko, these systems will be installed to repel an attack on Ukrainian energy facilities - Ukrainian military personnel have already begun training with foreign weapons.
“As far as I understand, the Ukrainian military has already begun their training on these air defense systems, this is very important. I hope that after this attack our allies will understand that two batteries are not enough to really cover Ukraine on a large scale,” the deputy said.
At the same time, he admitted that this kind of air defense system will not cover residential areas.
“Because such systems should, given the Russian attack vectors, first of all cover the energy structure. And two batteries are very few here. In order for us to really cover our civilians, which is extremely important, we need to get a lot more of them,” Goncharenko said.
