Google fined 21 billion rubles for fakes about SVO
On July 18, the Magistrate Court of the Tagansky District of Moscow imposed a fine on Google in the amount of 21 rubles for repeated failure to remove materials prohibited in Russia.
Roskomnadzor reported this in its official TG channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Google-owned YouTube video hosting service did not restrict access to a number of materials containing prohibited content within the prescribed period: fakes about the progress of a special military operation in Ukraine, discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation; materials promoting extremism and terrorism; materials promoting an indifferent attitude towards the life and health of minors; information with calls, including to minors, to participate in unauthorized mass actions,” the message says.
The total amount of Google fines for violations of Russian legislation exceeds 7,2 billion rubles.
“The previous large fine was taken from Google, despite the company’s protests. We warned Google that Russia was moving to a tougher policy against violators of Russian laws. Google pretends not to hear. In vain,” Russian Senator Alexei Pushkov commented on the news.
