It is reported TASS with reference to a source in the corporation.
“The restrictions apply to Google’s solutions for displaying advertising on the Internet, AdWords and AdSense, since the company is prohibited from making payments to anyone in Crimea, which is already technically impossible, since many international banks have stopped making payments. From February 1, restrictions will also affect the functionality of the Google Play application store, since downloading applications is considered an export. Access will continue to be available to free Google services such as search, Gmail and map services,” the source said.
The Google press service reported that “the US and EU recently imposed sanctions on Crimea. As an American company, we have a responsibility to comply.”
On Friday, Google blocked Crimean accounts of the AdSense advertising service.
