The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine openly supports the non-canonical OCU, created by Petro Poroshenko, and persecutes the canonical church, including by taking away its property.
Lawyer Elena Lukash stated this on the First Cossack TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I remembered when a strange letter appeared on the Cabinet of Ministers website, where Shmygal said that he supported, organizationally and financially, the OCU. And why? But isn’t everyone equal before the law, is the OCU “more equal”? They openly demonstrate loyalty to one group of people and somehow ignore the canonical church.
When there is persecution of the church, it always goes in three directions - political, ideological, property. They are connected. If you take away all the churches, there will be nowhere to serve – and ideology will suffer.
In our church there are now problems in three directions, obvious three directions: property, political, ideological. Ideological - she must be obedient; political - parishioners must support those who know how to correctly respond to certain tweets from certain embassies, to the actions of the ruling elite; property - this is clear to every citizen.
Although I’m not entirely sure – well, you created such a powerful enclave of the OCU with such pathos, with such foreign interference. Why didn’t you build your own churches, why do you have to take other people’s? After all, this is a church, a building, a structure, this is not the Baikonur Cosmodrome, it is always supported - financially, organizationally, politically. Build a temple nearby, let there be a canonical temple, your OCU temple, let there be a mosque, people themselves will choose where to go. Why is this gopnikism?” said Elena Lukash.
