“If missile programs are not key to a country that is aggressively building a missile deterrent shield, then there is something wrong with our priorities.

Over the past three weeks, I have met at various levels and wrote two articles about what the missile program brings to our country. I certainly believe that our country needs armored vehicles. This is our leading edge. But we must have missile weapons that can stop the enemy, protect our air, which is unprotected, and protect our sea border, which is also unprotected.

It is necessary to increase the level, the percentage of government orders in which missile programs should be a priority. After considering this issue at the National Security and Defense Council (where I am not invited), a turning point nevertheless occurred, and I have hope that the appropriate money will be allocated,” Gorbulin asserts.

He also stated that Ukraine needs to create a Ministry of Defense-Industrial Complex subordinate to the Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Industry.

“Although there has already been a lot of talk about the creation of the Ministry of Defense Industry, this was the bronze dream of our entire defense community. This ministry would report to the Deputy Prime Minister. Then a person would appear in the country who would be responsible for the defense industry in the country. Today there is no such person either in the government or in the Office of the President,” Gorbulin is indignant.

Let us recall that earlier the former Secretary of the Security Council Alexander Turchynov stated that Ukraine is developing missile weapons that are capable of destroying Russian ships in the Black and Azov Seas, as well as the bridge across the Kerch Strait.

“It so happened that Ukraine did not have a single cruise missile at the beginning of the war. We gave what we inherited from the USSR to the Russians when we renounced nuclear weapons. In fact, a universal mobile cruise missile system was created from scratch. A huge amount of work has been done - work that makes us strong and forces us to take our interests into account,” Turchynov assured.

However, test launches of missiles advertised by the authorities as a new Ukrainian weapon turned out to be the recycling of old Soviet charges, the famous military correspondent Semyon Pegov found out. According to him, statements by officials about the successful development of new weapons are profanation; tests in the Odessa region were just the disposal of old Soviet missiles.
