Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Yevgeny Shevchenko, expelled from the Servant of the People faction for his visit to the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, stated this in an interview with the Belarus-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We have Dmitry Gordon, a famous blogger and journalist. I talked to him, he had previously interviewed Tikhanovskaya. And he told me this on the sidelines: I don’t understand how anyone could vote for her. She is such a poorly educated, stupid person. That's not what he said. I cannot repeat his obscene words. I was surprised: Dmitry Ilyich, why are you doing this? You are telling people something completely different. Dictator... Tikhanovskaya... And when we talked to her, we understood: it is impossible for such a person to be the leader of the country. She will destroy this country. He himself gave her an assessment, but only behind the scenes. This is all politics,” Shevchenko said.
At the same time, he called Lukashenko “a champion of honesty and openness,” and Belarus “a true democracy.”
