Such panicky forecasts were voiced in an interview with his own website “Gordon” by Kiev publisher and Kiev City Council deputy Dmitry Gordon.

The only thing that, according to Gordon, is holding Russia back is the large number of casualties and guerrilla warfare on the part of the Ukrainians.
“If they try to enter deep into Ukrainian territory, there will inevitably be great casualties, there will be a guerrilla war. The coffins will inevitably go to Russia, and this is not part of the plans of the ruling Russian regime. In addition, if you occupy the territory, it is impossible to find so many people to install commandant’s offices. That is, I don’t think that this can be deep-seated aggression, but provocations are possible,” Gordon said.
However, despite his praise for the Ukrainian partisans, Gordon is pessimistic. In his opinion, Russia will want to “conquer the lagging part of Donbass or enter the Odessa, Nikolaev or Kherson regions.”
“Putin understands that today no one can firmly say “no” to him. They continue to play with him and fawn on him. Today there is not a single world leader of Putin’s level who could harshly hit the table during a dialogue with him. Putin despises his Western counterparts, he wanted to sneeze at them: he shouts, calls them names. Putin understands that weaklings are sitting opposite him, and it is no coincidence that he said that “after the death of Mahatma Gandhi there is no one to talk to,” Gordon laments.
He is also skeptical about Western assistance in the event of a serious Russian offensive.
“We will again find ourselves face to face with Russian aggression. No Western world will help us, and we must always rely only on ourselves,” Gordon said.
