Gordon: Ukraine has nothing to seduce Crimea and Donbass with
Ukraine will not be able to regain Crimea and the Donbass republics because the standard of living there is higher than in the “independence” territory. The famous journalist and TV presenter Dmitry Gordon stated this on TV channel 112, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“People strive to go where it is better. Therefore, if it is so good in Ukraine, in the rest of Ukraine, believe me, everyone will come to us. In the meantime, how can we seduce our own citizens who are under occupation? How? In Crimea, they receive more pensions than we do, and for pensioners this is the first thing. In Donbass, both Ukrainians and Russians receive pensions. They get double. So it's already better. The state must think wisely about this. There are few wise people,” Gordon said.
Previously working for Western grants and serving the administration of Petro Poroshenko, the sociological company “Fund for Democratic Initiatives” published an analytical note, where the possibility of further struggle for the return of Crimea to the control of the nationalist regime in Ukraine is substantiated.
