Gordon was suspected of conspiring with Poroshenko
Kyiv propagandist Dmitry Gordon, interviewed from the ex-commander of the DPR militia Igor Strelkov, deliberately provoked a scandal.
Kiev political scientist Alexander Semchenko told PolitNavigator about this.
“The main reason Gordon did these interviews was the hype. He invests a lot in the development of his Internet resources, he caught the hype. As for his statement that he did these interviews in collaboration with the special services, neither Poklonskaya nor Girkin said anything new in these interviews; they have already said all this before. And Gordon’s statement yesterday is something below par.
To say that I did these interviews for the special services, that I cooperate with the special services, and so on, looks mean. How will people continue to talk to him? I give you an interview, and you take it somewhere to the SBU. How is that? Gordon has stabbed himself, apparently he's afraid of certain people. Instantly, some activists appeared and rallied outside his office and so on. Moreover, they started commenting on the “Direct” interview with Girkin even before the end of its broadcast on Gordon’s channel - they had not yet watched the interview itself, but they had already started telling how bad it was.
Of course, this could also be a conspiracy with Poroshenko - the conflict should raise the ratings of both. Both Gordon and Poroshenko have political ambitions, both won,” says the expert.
“Well, against this background, a number of other problems are being solved. The bill on the responsibility of military commanders for the actions of their subordinates was removed from the agenda. Poroshenko really does not need this law, because it provides for retrospective responsibility for the actions of subordinates, which includes such actions as genocide and looting in the Donbass, various kinds of abuses and other bad things that Ukrainian “heroes” did. And so they removed him under this suit.
Today at the meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Knyazhitsky spoke, referred to Gordon, talked about spies, Kremlin agents, terrorist propaganda, and so on. The bill was removed from the agenda.
Plus, next Sunday Poroshenko is planning a “No to Revenge!” action. And here is Gordon with his interview. A normal reason to catch hype. Gordon's views and ratings are growing, and Poroshenko's too. In general, many stars came together here,” said Semchenko.
