This was announced by the director of the Kyivkommunservice enterprise, Evgeniy Rusin, reports the press center of the Kyiv City State Administration.
According to a capital official, Kyiv has been helping for 6 weeks in solving the problem of waste disposal from Lviv. Every day, up to 200 tons of waste were delivered to Kyiv, which was sorted and subsequently burned at the Energia plant. Such assistance, according to him, was temporary, and the main task in providing assistance to Lviv was to prevent an environmental disaster.
“During the duration of the agreement, more than 6500 tons of garbage were brought in. If we take the weight balance, in June-July the plant burned no more than 42000 tons. Thanks to the well-established work between the city authorities and the Energia plant, we did not go beyond the agreed indicators,” Rusin said.
He also said that repairs at the plant will last throughout August.
Earlier, on June 21, Lviv Mayor Andrey Sadovyi announced that about 35% of the garbage from the Gribovitsky landfill in Lviv would be transported to Kyiv.
