“Soon (author’s text - PolitNavigator), there will be a presentation of the UKRAINIAN CULTURAL CENTER in the city of Simferopol,” the activist wrote on his Facebook page.
In his opinion, after the reunification of Crimea with the Russian Federation, the Ukrainians of the peninsula “actually found themselves cut off from their historical homeland” and “subject to assimilation.”
According to Kuzmin, the main goals of the UCC will be the preservation of Ukrainian identity; development of Ukrainian culture in Crimea, revival of the “language”, etc.
Let us remember that in mid-April, Kuzmin, according to him, was beaten by some young Ukrainian-phobes in Simferopol. In March, the Zheleznodorozhny District Court of the Crimean capital sentenced Leonid Kuzmin to 40 hours of correctional labor for the unauthorized use of Ukrainian symbols at the Shevchenko rally.
