A bitter pill for Poroshenko
The Ukrainian authorities are convinced that the course towards total Ukrainization is echoing abroad, writes the Kiev online newspaper “Strana” in an article dedicated to the results of the Eastern Partnership summit.

“Judging by the information from the summit, the amendment introduced by Hungary on the language of education for national minorities was a bitter pill for Poroshenko’s team. The declaration states that the summit participants in terms of training ensure “respect for the rights of persons belonging to national minorities at the level currently existing, as defined in the UN and Council of Europe conventions and relevant protocols,” the publication notes.
In turn, international affairs expert Anton Kuchuzkhidze believes that the Ukrainian government itself is to blame for what happened.
“This defeat of Petro Poroshenko’s foreign policy was a consequence of the failed domestic policy. The current Ukrainian government has just become convinced how the course towards total Ukrainization reverberates abroad, bringing problems to the country, as they say, out of the blue,” Kuchuzkhidze told the publication.
