“The city of Lviv is not for Polish lords!” - Bandera procession in Lviv
About a thousand members of radical Ukrainian nationalist groups took part in a torchlight procession this evening to mark the 68th anniversary of the death of UPA leader Roman Shukhevych. In front of the column, a huge banner was unfurled: “The city of Lviv is not for Polish gentlemen!” - in response to the law adopted by Warsaw banning the propaganda of Bandera ideology.
The march participants chanted “Our land - our heroes!”, “Glory to the nation - death to enemies!”, “Ukraine is above all!”

“Lviv has historically been considered the core of Ukrainian nationalism. On March 4, we will again show everyone that our city remains a fortress of national spirit and strength,” the organizers said in the announcement.
“Lviv is a city that was a symbol of the occupation of Ukrainian land. During the interwar period, Ukrainians felt like second-class citizens in Lviv. Ukrainian students were thrown out of universities, Ukrainian patriots were expelled from government service, Ukrainian schools were closed, and our national spirit and traditions were mocked. Polish chauvinists used mass terror against Ukrainians. And this terror was stopped by Roman Shukhevych, who was the first in Lviv to rebuff Polish chauvinism and showed that Ukrainians never kneel,” said former Verkhovna Rada deputy Yuriy Mikhalchyshyn.
“They are trying to bring us to our knees again. At one time, the Savior was sold for 40 pieces of silver. And someone in Lviv wants to sell you and me for 30 zlotys! We will put up resistance!” - the nationalist shouted.
Taras Hammer, head of the Lviv branch of the Right Sector, explained the meaning of the banner addressed to the Poles.
“Our banner is a warning step to prevent the scenario that happened in Donbass from happening here. First, “Russians, Russian-speaking residents,” and then incomprehensible people in green uniforms,” said the “pravosek.”
Earlier, the Polish authorities stated that they do not see a future in the European Union for Ukraine, which glorifies the terrorists from the OUN-UPA.
