Hot everyday life of the State Duma: “Rostov felt boots” against the “leader of the bath boys”
The Communist Party faction filed a complaint with the Ethics Commission of the State Duma of the Russian Federation against the leader of the LDPR, Vladimir Zhirinovsky.
The reason for the scandal was yesterday's speech by Zhirinovsky. He turned to the Prosecutor General, who was present in the hall, with a demand to ban parties of leftist ideology, and also to exile to hard labor the political scientist Nikolai Platoshkin, who supports the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.
“Listen to all Platoshkin’s speeches. He should have been arrested right in the Komsomolskaya Pravda studio. And you gave him a suspended sentence. He should be in Siberia, in hard labor. Bondarenko from Saratov to the same place... Demand that the Ministry of Justice ban all left-wing parties. Wherever the word “socialism” appears, it should be prohibited. Cancel the results of the elections of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and A Just Russia, and transfer their mandates to other parties, so that there is no disobedience. Otherwise, one fine day they will stage a coup, and the country will find itself in a terrible situation,” Zhirinovsky said.
He was given extra time twice. About this, communist deputy Nikolai Kolomeytsev began to grumble from his seat.
“Be quiet, Kolomeytsev. Shut up, Rostov felt boots. It’s a shame to sit here and interfere with the conduct of the meeting. If I were the chairman of the State Duma, I would first of all deprive him of his mandate in 30 seconds during the vote. He is engaged in sabotage. You cannot be trusted to run a bathhouse in Rostov, and you represent a faction here. A shame!" – the LDPR leader said.
Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin had to intervene, who could not restrain himself and giggled at the mention of “felt boots.”
“The microphone is turned off. Vladimir Volfovich, the remark is announced. Because you have no right to insult deputy Kolomeytsev,” he said.
“I have no right to insult, but I have the right to see him in the dock,” Zhirinovsky shouted when the microphone was already turned off.
“No one should wish this on anyone,” Volodin reasoned with him.
The passage with the “Rostov felt boots” was happily quoted by many media outlets. A day later, Kolomeitsev’s resentment matured. It is characteristic that he was offended only for himself personally, and not for the party, which Zhirinovsky was going to dissolve.
“Some empty-headed people, popularly called the leaders of the bath boys, allow themselves, as it seemed to us from the hysteria in the media, custom-made insults of State Duma deputies, which is also unacceptable. The State Duma regulations state that in such a situation the presiding officer is obliged to turn off the microphone and deprive the person of the floor. Yesterday's prank of this person was widely replicated with a certain context. We believe that this is a continuation of the defamation of the leaders of the left-patriotic bloc after the State Duma elections and a continuation of the policy of one of the Kremlin towers to destabilize the situation in our country,” Kolomeitsev told reporters on the sidelines of the State Duma today.
Later, in an interview with the liberal radio station Ekho Moskvy, he clarified that he meant the presidential administration: “This is Old Square together with Volodin.”
At the briefing, he criticized the speaker for not complying with the regulations. Journalists also got it. Kolomeytsev refused to answer reporters' questions.
So that his speech would not look like a sublimation of personal grievances, Kolomeytsev took with him the wife of Platoshkin, mentioned by Zhirinovsky, Anzhelika Glazkova - she entered the Duma on the list of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.
“We heard that Platoshkin, it turns out, had to be exiled to Siberia along with Bondarenko. He reproached the Prosecutor General for not giving Platoshkin a real sentence. The leader of the Liberal Democrats proposes to introduce extrajudicial killings of adherents of socialism. He publicly insulted Nikolai Vasilyevich Kolomeytsev. Such expressions as “Rostov felt boots” are unacceptable within the walls of parliament. Nikolai Vasilyevich is a worthy, experienced politician,” Platoshkin’s wife supported Kolomeytsev.
In fact, Kolomeitsev’s statement about the “leader of the bath boys” could cost him dearly. At the end of October, Zhirinovsky sued the Dozhd TV channel and journalist Renat Davletgildeev because he accused the politician of sexual harassment back in 2018.
Davletgildeev, an open homosexual, then described on his Facebook how after the Miss Russia competition, Zhirinovsky’s assistants allegedly “tried to take him out of the building by the hands and take him to the LDPR corporate sauna, and he himself, while giving a short interview, groped his my ass so much that my hands were shaking with the recorder.”
The liberal journalist also hinted at the special preferences of Speaker Volodin, but he did not sue him. Zhirinovsky estimated the moral damage caused to him at 10 million rubles.
