The US State Department gave Hug “cookies”

On Friday, US Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch handed over to First Deputy Chairman of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine Alexander Hug a letter from US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

This was reported on Twitter by the American Embassy.

“The US Ambassador conveyed to OSCE SMM First Deputy Chairman Alexander Hug a letter of gratitude from Secretary of State Pompeo, who highly appreciated Hug’s leadership and responsible service in a mission critical to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. We wish Mr. Hug all the best in his future endeavors,” the embassy said.

Let us remind you that the first deputy chairman of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine, Alexander Hug, left his post on October 31. His successor was Mark Etherington, who had already held this position in 2014.
