Ukraine's national debt exceeded 2 trillion hryvnia. Groysman promised to take more
The total amount of state and guaranteed debt of Ukraine as of January 1 amounted to 2,14 trillion hryvnia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Chairman of the State Treasury Tatyana Slyuz said this during a public report on the activities of the State Treasury Service of Ukraine for 2017.
“Certainly, government guaranteed debt is actually already in the trillions. To date, namely as of January 1, 2018, it amounted to a little more than 2 trillion hryvnia, namely 2,14 trillion hryvnia. When you look at January 1, 2016, it amounted to UAH 1 trillion 600 billion,” Slyuz said.
According to the forecast of the Ministry of Finance, the projected maximum amount of state-guaranteed debt by the end of this year will be about 747,6 billion hryvnia, which is 2,3 times more than the planned figures for 2017. According to the Ministry of Finance, by the end of 2018 the ratio of public debt to GDP will increase from the expected 75,6% in 2017 to 82,4%. In general, by the end of 2018, the public debt should not exceed UAH 2,756 trillion.
In turn, today Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman promised that the country’s cooperation with the IMF will continue.
“We will continue cooperation with the IMF. We will maintain macro-financial stability, attract investment and increase exports,” Groysman said during the conference “High-level International Meeting on Reforms in Ukraine.”
