The State Duma issued a tough statement to the United States for Biden’s inauguration
The State Duma of the Russian Federation today unanimously adopted a statement condemning the policy of double standards of Western countries, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The political situation in the countries blaming Russia can hardly be characterized as anything other than a situation of a split in society, civil, religious and racial confrontation and outright hostility. At the same time, participants in unauthorized political actions, whom the Americans and their NATO allies have always called “freedom fighters” and supported in every possible way around the world - in the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, Venezuela, Belarus, China, Ukraine and Georgia , have been declared “domestic terrorists” and face long prison sentences.
At the same time, the authorities of Western states continue to angrily denounce the actions of the Belarusian police and justify all kinds of “actions of disobedience.” Obviously, in the capitals of these states they believe that the actions of their law enforcement agencies are always carried out supposedly for the benefit of democracy, while in Russia, Belarus or China they grossly violate its fundamental principles.
A participant in the murder of journalists in the south-east of Ukraine is proclaimed a national hero in Kyiv, and then, when the political situation changes, she is accused of organizing an anti-state conspiracy,” the statement says.
“Russia is accused of poisoning someone. Then these accusations explode. Desperate attempts to deform the image of Russia in the world are being made using the same style that was previously used by the United States in other stories. But this apotheosis of double standards is crumbling today. All faction leaders spoke out against the intervention of foreign states, both in the domestic and foreign policy of the Russian Federation. Today’s document confirms for parliaments around the world and experts a situation where Russia categorically does not accept the policy of double standards,” said LDPR deputy Leonid Slutsky at the meeting.
State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin believes that the adopted statement should become “the support, foundation and guide to action” of the Russian delegation in the Parliamentary Assembly of European Countries (PACE).
“Our delegation will go to PACE. There are already proposals coming from there that we simply cannot agree with. This not only contradicts the interests of our state, but also infringes on the rights of our citizens. We won't agree. Maybe they want to propose new standards? If you water people with water cannons in winter, is that standard? Gas people. This is the torture of people in concentration camps. But you tell us that we do not comply with the standards. We don’t need such standards,” Volodin said.
