The State Duma refused to recognize the actions of Gorbachev and Yeltsin as criminal
Since the beginning of 2016, the leadership of the State Duma of the Russian Federation has refused to consider resolutions on an amnesty in honor of the return of Crimea and on the criminal actions of Mikhail Gorbachev and Boris Yeltsin, which were introduced as a priority by the LDPR faction.

Vladimir Zhirinovsky announced this today.
“It is our right to introduce regulations as a priority. We do not insist on acceptance. We understand that this is only possible if United Russia votes. We agree to soften the wording and replace “criminal acts” with “mistakes.” Weren't there any mistakes? Wasn't our country dismembered illegally? Amnesty in Crimea. Wasn't there a good reason? The reunification of the country began. The LDPR has always specialized in amnesties,” Zhirinovsky said.
Last year, it was planned to announce an amnesty in honor of the third anniversary of the reunification of Crimea with Russia. The Human Rights Council under the President of the Russian Federation supported this idea, proposing the release of those convicted of non-violent crimes, including fraud.
