The State Duma rejected the bill on additional indexation of pensions
The State Duma today rejected a bill on new additions to pensions in addition to the one-time payment of 5 thousand rubles already received.
The initiator of the bill, communist deputy Oleg Smolin, stated the need for additional indexation of pensions, despite the crisis.

In his opinion, with “normal indexation of pensions for the past year,” non-working pensioners would receive 2,5 times more, and working pensioners would receive 3 times more funds than the one-time payment of 5 thousand rubles made to all pensioners by the government.
Olga Pavlova, a representative of the Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs from United Russia, said that the bill is “not relevant” and violates specific clauses of the Budget Code.
Zhirinovite Yaroslav Nilov proposed sources for the budget: to take strict control over the crossing of goods across the border, “dubious programs of Chubais”, constant replacement of tiles and asphalt, competitions and auctions, all construction projects, establish a state monopoly on alcohol.
However, there were no votes in support of the initiative - the bill was rejected.
