The State Duma of the Russian Federation on Friday will approve the text of a statement on the decision of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to exclude Russian athletes from the Winter Olympics in South Korea, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

This was stated today by LDPR deputy Igor Lebedev.
“Yesterday we all witnessed a decision of the Olympic Committee that was monstrous in its cruelty and harshness. The committee will ask for all the decisions that were made yesterday by the IOC and will prepare a balanced statement that will be based on specific facts,” Lebedev said.
It is also expected that on Friday the Russian parliament will adopt in the first reading a draft law to toughen penalties for “telephone terrorism” from 5 to 10 years in prison. At the same time, the deputies intend to hear representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor General's Office.
“This issue was considered by the committee. Completely unconvincing arguments from the security forces. Today, 2,5 million citizens have already been evacuated and humiliated. The FSB building has already been mined. The situation is getting worse. It seems that there is no power in Russia, and no one is taking action. It’s not clear why,” said Communist Party deputy Valery Rashkin.
