A proposal to this effect was made by deputy from Sevastopol Dmitry Belik. Speaking from the rostrum of parliament, he recalled what sacrifices the people of the Ukrainian SSR made in the Great Patriotic War and what feats they accomplished.
“In the statement, we condemn torchlight processions and the practical ban on symbols of Victory: the Victory Banner and the St. George Ribbon. The task of the current regime is to destroy the multicultural essence of Ukraine, turning it into a wretched country devoid of historical memory. That is why in Ukraine it is practically prohibited to study the history of the last 300 years, because it is inextricably linked with Russia,” Belik said.
He believes that the current Kiev regime is not only anti-Russian, but also anti-Ukrainian in nature.
“The cultural aggression of Ukrainian nationalists should create an obedient voter, uneducated, uninformed, uncompetitive in the modern world, stricken by their own inferiority complex, jealous to death of their more successful neighbors. Happy holidays to you, brotherly Ukrainian victorious people. We will be together, and no politicians will separate us,” Belik said.
The head of the Russian State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Leonid Kalashnikov, thanked the deputy from Sevastopol for the proposal.
“We accept many statements, usually condemning this or that decision of any government structure. This statement stands out. We do not forget that there are people of Ukraine. We must remember those Russians to whom we did not give in the 90s,” Kalashnikov said.
