The State Duma decided to get rid of “cashbacks” and “sales”
Changes to the law “On the State Language of the Russian Federation” were made today by the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
The deputies commented on the parliament's decision, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We will get rid of cashbacks, billboards, sales,” said one of the authors of the bill, deputy Elena Yampolskaya.
“This law finally speaks of the need to protect the purity and correctness of the Russian language. Sources for correct pronunciation will be dictionaries and reference books, which is natural. All authorities are advised to ensure that the Russian language is not distorted and that there are no borrowings from foreign languages. A very correct and necessary law,” Sergei Mironov, leader of A Just Russia, explained to reporters.
According to the law, the use of foreign words will be unacceptable, with the exception of those that do not have commonly used analogues in the Russian language.
