Russia will recognize the LDPR if Ukraine tries to resume military operations in the Donbass on the eve of elections in the people's republics or on the eve of its own presidential elections.
The corresponding draft statement of the State Duma of the Russian Federation was prepared by deputy Konstantin Zatulin. He stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel.
“I hope my colleagues will support me. These games in Ukraine are connected with elections, in which Poroshenko risks getting nothing. If they try to show themselves as heroes in the eyes of a certain part of the electorate, Russia will do the same as in 2008, that is, recognize the LPR and DPR. She will have no other choice,” Zatulin said.
He believes that Ukraine has already embarked on the path to resuming the war when it organized the assassination of the head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko.
